“You cannot plough a field by turning it over in your mind.”
– Anonymous
In my experience, everyone (regardless of achievements) has something important that they haven’t started into yet. It could be:
- That difficult conversation…
- That idea about a new project or way of doing things..
- That book or story you keep talking and thinking about writing…
- That change of direction you really want to make…
- That decision you keep pushing off…
- That habit you keep promising to change…
The human brain is wired to think and the mind is an amazing tool of creation.
But it’s also an amazing saboteur – and the danger is that we let ourselves ‘turn things’ over too much and end up in a perpetual loop of ‘thinking about’ instead of doing.
The trick is to catch ourselves doing the ‘turning’ and to call ourselves out – and take some action. Any action.
Where can you plough for real this week?
