“Tennis can be a very frustrating sport.
There is no way around the hard work. Embrace it.
You have to put in the hours because there is always something you can improve.”
– Roger Federer
Yesterday, Roger Federer won an incredible 8th Wimbledon tennis title and reclaimed his throne as the best player in the world – all at the age of 35.
But it never looked possible a year ago.
Approaching his 35th birthday, he hadn’t won a Grand Slam since 2012. He was struggling with a knee injury (which had been sustained while running a bath for his twin daughters), which forced him out of tennis for 5 months.
With such incredible success over his career, he would have been forgiven for calling ‘time’ on his career. But that was not the option selected.
This year he has won 32 of the 34 matches he has played, along with winning the Australian Open.
An incredibly inspiring turn-around.
So, where can you do a ‘Federer’?
A Federer = Somewhere you’ve taken a hit/injury, but you’re going to turn it around. Or at least commit to getting better.
Food for thought 😉
