“Ideas are cheap. I have more ideas now than I could ever write up. To my mind, it’s the execution that is all-important.”
– George RR Martin
(Author of A Song Of Ice And Fire on which the mega-hit TV series Game of Thrones is based)
Most of us have ideas. Ideas that if done would transform our health, our companies,
our relationships and our lives. Yet very often it’s the execution of these ideas where we fall down.
In my experience, if we pick one idea or goal and commit to making it happen – I mean doing whatever it takes – a funny side effect happens…
Lots of the other ideas that were ‘hanging around’ also happen, perhaps getting caught up in the flow of activity.
I think the trick is to find an idea you really want to happen and by saying you really want, I mean you don’t know ‘how’ to make it happen.
Still, like George Martin above, it requires you to take daily action to bring it to life.
What might be your one idea to focus on? And bear in mind, that if you’re delegating your idea to be executed, give it to someone who’s good at taking action…
