“If you’re not failing every now and again,
it’s a sign you’re not doing anything very innovative.”
– Woody Allen

It’s so easy to get locked into habits of thinking and doing.

And increasingly in business and life we can look to fall back
on the way we’ve always done things.

But if the results you’re getting are not what you want
then maybe it’s time to try something new?

(e.g. declining sales, putting on extra weight, lack of margin,
troubled relationships, increasing anxiety etc.)

Everyone is talking about ‘innovation’ but in my experience
most people don’t really know what it is – at least not enough to apply it in reality.

At it’s core, is starting something new, and using ‘trial and error’
to experiment with it. That means failure is an intrinsic part of the innovation process.
Perfection is the enemy of innovation in your business and life.

Most know this intellectually, but do we really allows ourselves
to fail?

What will you try that’s new in February?
Will you allow yourself to fail?

And perhaps see it as part of your own innovation process…

Experiment – fail – learn/adapt – experiment again – repeat
