Hi,
here’s your shot of weekly inspiration:
“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
All progress, therefore, depends on the unreasonable man.”
George Bernard Shaw
George Bernard Shaw
Some of my favourite quotes have been said by GB Shaw. A genius
with genuine insights.
The true visionaries and super achievers are the ones who can see
what everyone else says is ‘impossible’ and still persist in creating it.
They never give up. And the time comes when ‘everyone else’ then
accepts what they were doing, and take it for granted.
Take these examples:
The wright brothers invented the aeroplane. Yet did you know that
they were 2 bicycle mechanics who their friends tried to have committed
to a mental asylum?
Marconi was convinced sound travels through space as waves and
created the first radio. Yet he too was suspected of being insane!
Edison invented the first light bulb but it took him over 10,000 attempts
to get it!
It’s said that if you really want to get Branson going, tell him something is
impossible.
The history of the world is basically a history of small groups of people
saying they want to do the ‘impossible’, the majority disagreeing with them,
and then eventually the majority accepting what’s been created.
You can pick up your mobile phone right now, and speak to a friend
on the other side of the world, with no time delay, and completely take
it for granted. Yet it’s like magie and at one time would have been considered
outrageous as a concept!
So here’s the thing. Are you being reasonable or unreasonable with the
results in your life?
What in your life or business are you settling for that could be much better?
What are you going to do about it this week?
Food for thought…
Have a great week,
