Being Vulnerable – Not As Scary As We Think

“Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage.
Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable but they are never weakness”
-Brene Brown

Real leaders are okay with being vulnerable.

And they use their vulnerability to show their humanity and also to inspire others to be better.

Yet so many still struggle with being vulnerable.

Especially men (But increasingly women too).

It takes courage to admit you have a problem, to share it and then ask for help from the right people.

But people who have this courage are the ones who learn and change the fastest. They grow quicker.

I’ve met a lot of people who took too long to get to vulnerability (including myself) and when they
eventually did, they recognised that they should have arrived there faster.

What is life and business if not a series of problems to overcome?

Yet we can often feel like we’re the only one who’s ever had the problem.

Being vulnerable with the right person is the start of creating better for you and the people around
you.

No-one person has all the answers.

And no, you’re not the only ‘crazy’ one out there.

This week consider picking your top issue or problem and do 3 things:

1. Find the right person

2. Admit you have a problem and share it

3. Ask for help

You will be surprised at what can happen.

Have a great week,

Shane
