All too often we try to solve problems using the tried and tested ways that got us into that situation in the first place.
As technology causes success in business to rely much more on ‘Mind Power’, creative thinking is going to be one of the key skills of the coming years.
One of the simplest ways to ‘jump start’ your creative thinking is to change your physical environment.
Last Friday I went for a hike up the Wicklow mountains (hills really…). By the end I had possible solutions to 3 issues. Just by changing the scenery.
When it comes to helping teams or individuals get the most from a session I find they get best results when they’re out of their office – it seems to ‘free’ up their minds to think differently.
I know of one successful business owner who makes sure they travel at least once a month – and their main motivation to to ‘get out and think differently’.
Maybe you could do with getting out of your regular work environment this week?
