“Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence.
Talent will not;
nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not;
unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not;
the world is full of
educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”
– Calvin Coolidge, 30th President Of The United States
This is one to share with the people around you.
In my experience it’s true. The best people I know at achieving their goals (some of which are reading this email), all have persistence and determination as key traits.
They keep going when others would give up.
A friend told me recently that she was at an event where Ireland’s Boxing Champion,
Katie Taylor, was asked ‘Did she have ‘bad days’ when she didn’t want to train?’
Her answer was that yes, she had them like everyone else but her attitude is
‘They’re the days that really count’. And so she makes sure she does them.
Persistence and determination.
Where can you apply that attitude this week?
Have a great week.
