“One-half of knowing what you want is knowing what you must give up before you get it.”
– Sydney Howard

Syndey Howard was an Amercian playwright and screenwriter.
He won the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1925 and a posthumous Oscar
for the screenplay for the movie Gone With The Wind.

His quote above I believe is true.

As one of my clients said to me, “Most people aren’t prepared to pay the price
for what they want, and that’s why they won’t get it.”

What do you want?

A thriving business? – Can you give up thinking you have all the answers and ask for help?

A healthy body? – Can you give up poor eating habits?

A personal project? – Can you give up all distractions to free up time? (TV, committees, social media, social etc.)

A rewarding career? – Can you say ‘No’ to the trivial many and focus more on the critical few?

A happy relationship? – Can you stop looking at facebook or your work and actually engage with the person closest to you? 🙂

A clear mind? – Can you give up your addiction to thought and problems?

What’s your top priority over the coming months?  Are you clear on what you
need to give up to move towards it?

Food for thought.
