“The world is changed by your example,
not by your opinion.”
– Paulo Coelho, Novelist
It’s easy to have an opinion, and certainly when you look at social media you see there is no shortage of them.
But what matters most is your example.
And there’s no-one better to point this out to me than my kids.
Me: My body’s a temple.
Jane (My daughter(11)): So why are you eating that chocolate cake again?
If there are people around you not behaving the way you ‘want’, maybe it’s worth doing the hard work of looking at your own behaviour.
Are you role modelling the change you wish to see?
Or are you just doing what a lot of people on social media do? – shouting your opinion, expecting the world to change but not connecting the dots to your own behaviour.
It’s hard to role model but it’s the most inspiring thing when you see it in action. And the pay off is immense when it comes to really influencing others.
Where can you be a better role model this week?
ps – To celebrate 10 years of writing this email every Monday, I have a special offer on my book ‘Inspire Me’ later this week. Watch out for the offer tomorrow.
