“Your journey is not the same as mine, and my journey is not yours,

but if you meet me on a certain path, may we encourage each other.”

Who from your life has made a big difference on your journey?

No doubt there have been many. And I’m sure you can remember the people who, perhaps without realising it, hindered you.

It’s remarkable to me how a few words of encouragement, belief, or support can uplift someone’s spirits and propel them forward.

I recall coming across research that focused on prodigies in different fields. Surprisingly, it wasn’t their exceptional talent that set them apart; rather, it was the unwavering belief their teachers had in them. This belief acted as a catalyst, unlocking their hidden potential.

Through my own experiences working with individuals, teams and organisations, I have witnessed the transformative power of belief and encouragement.

It’s incredible what each of us can achieve when we have someone who wholeheartedly believes in our abilities or is open to seeing our potential. And in particular, to allow someone to follow their own path.

As we navigate this week, I invite you to consciously embrace the role of an encourager. A catalyst for potential.

Go out of your way to extend a kind word, offer support, or say you believe in someone’s potential. You never know how your actions might positively impact their journey.

The more people do it, genuinely, the more we will create a culture of empowerment and encouragement, where we inspire one another to reach greater heights.

Cheesy perhaps. But it does make a difference.

Best,

Shane
